Beginner Level 1 uses props to achieve the ultimate pose influenced by Iyengar's method, a form of hatha yoga based on focusing every detail to the physical alignment of the body in each pose. In Beginner Level 1, you will learn to become aware of your body by increasing your respiratory health with breathing exercises, which will also clarify the mind, and release stress levels. The overall goal of the course is to improve your core strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, balance and overall health and wellness.
Beginner Level 1 is for individuals who've had little to no yoga/pilates experience and would like to start from the beginning in a fun and safe environment with other beginners. The class is influenced by Iyengar Yoga which focuses on every detail in each pose, you don't have to touch your toes, do a headstand or twist yourself into a pretzel you just simply need to be in the moment. This class is preferred for those who are able to stand up and sit down on the floor. The use of chairs, straps, blocks and blankets help assist the student in attaining ideal alignment, even if the body is not yet open enough. Some props will be used, you're welcome to bring your own.
